The company had been providing services to the South through three other offices in Anniston, Woodstock, Ga., and Knoxville, Tenn., which supported customers in nine states. The new Birmingham location will mean a need for new technical and professional employees, including engineers, designers, information technology and accounting and finance professionals. A news release said the company's decision to open its Southeast headquarters in Birmingham was brought about by the significant concentration of manufacturing companies located in the area. "This new and pivotal sales and operations center in Birmingham is the next step in our plan to align ourselves with the accelerating economy in Alabama, Mississippi and beyond," said Mark Marheineke, president of the company. The office will centralize sales and recruiting operations and bring the company closer to some of their largest customers, he said. The company also hired a new vice president of Southeast operations, Lane McMullin, to oversee the growth.
